CHRISTIAN DIOR (VINTAGE) – CIRCA 1980’s MODEL ‘2784’ Sunglasses Blog Detail

An exceptional pair of original Christian Dior 2784 sunglasses, dating from the late 1970s to early 1980s and Made in Austria.

A beautifully sculptural example of Dior’s extravagant eyewear from the period, featuring an oversized rounded silhouette in translucent honey-gold Optyl, complemented by warm brown lenses and remarkably elegant gold-tone metal temples.

The most distinctive detail is the dramatic open-work temple construction, with its circular CD-inspired ornamentation connecting the frame front to the slender metal temples – unmistakably Dior and wonderfully representative of the glamorous eyewear design of the era.

Produced in Austria, where some of Dior’s most collectible vintage Optyl eyewear was manufactured, the 2784 combines Parisian glamour with exceptional European craftsmanship.
