The frame’s unique contrast of volume and lightness draws upon the deliberate strokes of kaisho, an ancient artistic form that requires years of practice and extraordinary discipline to be mastered.

While the inspiration behind this familiar shape dates back centuries, the technology that makes it possible is state of the art and limited to only a handful of the finest Japanese eyewear manufacturers. Using DITA’s unique chemical annealing process, the lightweight acetate frame is rendered in a groundbreaking stainless steel core lamination process; the end product is 50% thinner than traditional acetate and more than twice as strong.
