Persol is an Italian eyewear brand and one of the oldest eyewear companies in the world. The name comes from the Italian phrase “per il sole,” which means “for the sun.”

Founded in 1917 by Giuseppe Ratti, the Persol was originally staffed by pilots and race car drivers.

Persol was introduced to the U.S. in 1962 and opened its first store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in 1991.
