CHRISTIAN DIOR (VINTAGE) – 1970’s OPTYL EYEGLASSES /HONEY AMBER & COGNAC
Auf Lager316,20 €
A rare piece from the golden age of Dior eyewear.
An extraordinary original Christian Dior frame from the 1970s, crafted in translucent Optyl – the innovative lightweight material behind some of the era’s most sculptural eyewear.
The beautifully moulded frame features a warm honey-amber colour that shifts between champagne, cognac and burnt orange as the light passes through the material. Deeply bevelled edges give the relatively petite frame an unexpectedly architectural presence.
The temples are finished with Dior’s distinctive vintage CD medallions in black and gold – a characteristic detail found on the house’s Optyl eyewear from this period.
Unlike many of Dior’s famously enormous 1970s creations, this is a particularly attractive smaller-fitting example, retaining the dramatic proportions of the era without an excessively wide front.
More than eyewear, it is a beautifully preserved piece of 1970s European fashion design.
